Your teddy bear may be online too!

Stuffed animals and action figures have been battling against high-tech toys for years now for the attention of children, but a recent product line has put teddy on the Net.

The product was explained to me as being sort of similar to "The Sims" video game. How does it work? There's a brand of stuffed animals called Webkinz. More Ganz Webkinz information, as you might imagine, is located at www.webkinz.com.

Each stuffed animal at the store contains a secret code, and you "adopt" your animal online. So if you have a fluffy pink hedgehog stuffed animal, your hedgehog acquires an online persona as well. You can play games with your hedgehog, decorate its room and even, I think, interact online with friends and their pets.
